Bongeziwe Mabandla joins Afropunk 2020 line-up

Afropunk has announced the 2020 line-up for its free virtual event from 23 to 25 October – and it includes our own Bongeziwe Mabandla.

Going under the title PLANET AFROPUNK 2020, this year’s event will feature performances streaming everywhere from Atlanta, South Africa, Los Angeles, Nigeria, the UK, and Botswana, among others.

It’s no surprise that Bongeziwe has joined the likes of headliners including R&B songstress Ari Lennox, Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage and Houston rapper Tobe Nwigwe. In July, AFROPUNK showed Bongeziwe abundant love by sharing the video for “Jikeleza” across its various platforms.

PLANET AFROPUNK will also feature a number of speakers, including comedian and actress Amanda Seales, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah correspondent Dulcé Sloan, and multimedia journalist Ivie Anie.

PLANET AFROPUNK will be a completely free virtual experience. You can sign up for the broadcast here.

To live stream the festival with exclusive content on Facebook Live from October 23 to October 25.
